Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Welcome to Center of Integration, specializing in Naprapathy and Osteopathic Manual Practice, both gentle manual therapy techniques. As a Licensed Ecclesiastical Health Practitioner (LEHP) certified by the Guardians Ecclesiastical Holistic Association, I provide compassionate, hands-on wellness services rooted in spiritual and integrative principles to promote balance, relieve discomfort, and enhance well-being. Our mission is to support the body’s natural harmony through gentle, personalized approaches, helping you live a vibrant life. All services are provided within the scope of holistic wellness practices and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Consult your physician for any medical concerns. Below are answers to common questions.
What is Naprapathy?
My naprapathy-inspired practice is a gentle, holistic approach that targets tension in connective tissues (ligaments, tendons, and fascia) around the spine and joints. Drawing from traditional principles, it uses soft tissue techniques, stretching, and lifestyle guidance to support mobility, reduce discomfort, and encourage natural wellness. This non-invasive method employs sustained, precise and gentle pressure to release restrictions, making it suitable for everyday tensions like back discomfort, neck stiffness, sports strains, and foot issues. At Center of Integration, we tailor each session to your physical and spiritual needs within our holistic scope.
What is Gentle Manual Therapy (Inspired by Osteopathic Principles)?
Gentle manual therapy draws from holistic traditions to assess and support musculoskeletal balance by viewing the body as an interconnected system. It uses techniques like soft tissue work, joint mobilization, and light touch methods to improve circulation, enhance mobility, and promote overall harmony. This approach addresses everyday issues such as headaches, leg discomfort, joint stiffness, and stress-related tension, focusing on wellness rather than symptom relief. At Center of Integration the way we practice integrates these techniques with Naprapathy-inspired methods for comprehensive, individualized support.
What conditions do you support at Center of Integration?
We offer holistic support for a variety of musculoskeletal and wellness concerns, including:
- Everyday discomfort: Lower back or neck tension, and generalized body stiffness.
- Joint wellness: Support for arthritis-related mobility, shoulder restrictions, and hip/knee comfort.
- Soft tissue support: Strains, repetitive stress, and overall tension relief.
- Active lifestyle support: Knee or elbow strains from activity, and foot wellness.
- Holistic balance: Headache support, jaw tension, stress relief, and digestive harmony.
- Preventive care: Posture guidance and ongoing wellness maintenance.
Our integrative approach combines gentle manual techniques and ecclesiastical principles to nurture body, mind, and spirit. These services complement, but do not replace, medical care.
How does Naprapathy-inspired practice differ from Osteopathic Manual Practice?
Naprapathy-inspired work focuses on releasing tension in connective tissues through targeted soft-tissue approaches, ideal for chronic discomfort and restrictions. It emphasizes precise support to encourage natural function and mobility. Osteopathic Manual Practice takes a broader view, addressing the body’s structural harmony through diverse light-touch techniques. At Center of Integration, we blend both—Naprapathy-inspired for specific relief and Osteopathic manual therapy for whole-body support—customized to your unique wellness goals.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first session (90 minutes) includes a comprehensive wellness discussion: We’ll explore your health history, current experiences, and goals, followed by a gentle hands-on assessment to identify areas of tension. No invasive procedures—just intuitive, supportive evaluation. Wellness support begins immediately with tailored techniques, often providing a sense of ease. You’ll receive personalized recommendations, such as stretches, lifestyle tips, or mindfulness practices. All of which you can go home and research to decide if they are appropriate for you. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Sessions are calming and uplifting, always within our holistic scope.
How many sessions will I need?
Wellness plans vary: Everyday tensions may ease in 3-6 sessions, while ongoing support might involve 6-12 sessions over weeks. Maintenance visits every 4-8 weeks nurture long-term harmony. We’ll create a clear, personalized plan and adjust based on your feedback.
Is your care covered by insurance?
As a Licensed Ecclesiastical Health Practitioner, our holistic services are primarily self-pay, operating outside traditional insurance networks.
Do you accept any insurance plans?
Our ecclesiastical holistic model focuses on self-pay. Due to the ecclesiastical nature of the work if cost is a barrier please feel free to call and discuss a sliding scale option
Are you certified as a practitioner?
Yes, I am a Licensed Ecclesiastical Health Practitioner (LEHP) certified by the Guardians Ecclesiastical Holistic Association. I studied at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute and Graduated from the Brazilian Rolfing® Association (ABR). I obtained my Diploma is Osteopathic Manual Practice (Canada) in 2017 and went on to earn my Doctor of Osteopathy (Spain) and Doctor of Naprapathy in 2024. To be very clear, I am not an MD, I hold doctorate levels of education in those subjects/techniques. My practice adheres to high standards of holistic care, blending time-honored methods with spiritual wellness principles. Ongoing education ensures current integrative approaches. Although my work is influenced by the thought process and ideology of Rolfing (as Dr Rolf was herself influenced by the Osteopaths of her time) I am not offering Rolfing at this time. I do hope to have it back on the table soon.
Is manual therapy safe? Are there any side effects?
Our gentle techniques are low-risk and suitable for most individuals, including seniors and active adults. Mild tenderness (like after gentle movement) may occur, resolving within 24-48 hours. We screen for sensitivities (e.g., recent strains or conditions) and adapt for comfort and safety.
How can I prepare for a session or learn more?
There is no necessary prep work but some people find it helpful to explore the following-
- Stay hydrated and eat lightly before your visit.
- Reflect on your experiences or wellness goals to share during consultation.
- Visit our blog for insights on holistic health, tension relief, and mindful living.
