Your feet are your foundation. When they’re stiff or “asleep” from a day in shoes, the rest of your body has less support, and your knees, hips and back pick up the slack. This simple reset helps your feet feel the ground again.
Try this two-minute foot reset:
- Stand first. Notice how your feet feel on the floor. Is one different from the other?
- Roll one foot. Hold onto a counter for balance and place a tennis ball under one foot. Slowly roll from heel to toes, then side to side. Use gentle pressure, about what feels good.
- Pause on tender spots. When you find one, rest there and breathe for a few seconds. Don’t grind on it.
- Stand and compare. Step off the ball and notice: does that foot feel wider, flatter, or more connected to the floor?
- Switch sides. Then take a slow walk and notice how your steps feel.
Tip: keep a ball by the bathroom sink and roll while you brush your teeth.
Move gently. Get curious if it’s a pain you can breathe through or one you need to skip for now. If you have diabetes, neuropathy or a foot injury, check with your doctor first. Want to learn more about how your feet affect the rest of your body?
